In Horticulture our company ethos and values lie within fresh, organic, locally sourced produce throughout. We strive to create unique, tasty, forward thinking dishes and cocktails but with the focus on cultivating as much as possible from the source. 

We are environmentally conscious, constantly trying to reduce our waste, reduce our carbon footprint, and also with as much renewable or biodegradable packaging as possible. Our aim is to do all of the above whilst creating a vibrant, bohemian atmosphere.

Peter Breckon, born and bred in Newcastle, grew his understanding of food at Newcastle College, developed his detailed understanding of gastronomy under the likes of Heston Blumenthal, Mark Hix and Jamie Oliver’s flagship London eatery ‘Fifteen’, he then came back to Newcastle to ply his trade with Terry Laybourne.

All of this culinary knowledge and yet no kitchen and no menu to call his own, until now! Taking all of his refined cooking practices, taste combinations and his own love for hearty tasty social food, he has put together a phenomenal casual small plates menu together with a delightful brunch offering that not only combines all his love and creativity but does so in an environmentally friendly, organic, locally sourced way as possible. In summary, our menu is modern British cuisine with international flavours, delivered in a relaxed social environment. Small plates designed for sharing, 90% naturally gluten free, over half the dinner menu is vegetable based and almost all of the food is organic and locally supplied the North’s finest farmers fishermen and butchers.

From the get go our goal has been to focus on seasonality and sustainability in every aspect of the venue. We have applied this focus to every drink we have either sourced or created, and we have cultivated what we consider the perfect selection of coffees, crafts and cocktails. When considering products we have strived to be as ethical, organic, low waste and environmentally conscious as possible.

SIGNATURE CREATIONS

Our custom cocktails are designed with seasonal ingredients, sustainability and fantastic flavours. Our intention is to be as low waste as possible, so many of our ingredients are created with this in mind. Whether it be using the skin to make juice, chickpea water to make foam, or chilli seeds to make syrup, we try to utilise every part of our produce to create not only more sustainable, but tastier cocktails.

Feeling tired? Put a spring in your step with one of our delicious Percolators! Handcrafted drinks designed to lift the spirits and entice the senses. Our coffee, sourced from local roastery Ringtons, provides the perfect base for out 40 different espresso martinis and our other 10 delicious coffee-based libations.
